Miles of Smiles

Taro really had the baby smiling away tonight. He smiles alot these days. He gets so excited and tries to laugh but nothing comes out. He has also been cooing too. It is so cute.

Today was Taro's birthday. I surprised him and showed up to work with the baby. We took him out to lunch. AJ looked just like Taro in his "matching" plaid shirt. I see a future firearms examiner in the making.

Stormy Sunday

What an exciting afternoon. We had a huge thunderstorm with lighting and hail. Yes, hail. It was awesome. It reminded me of Virginia and made me homesick. Our cat Pepper didn't like it too much though. Shortly after it started the power went out. We lit all the candles and sat in the dark for several hours. It finally came back on around 8 pm. Now it's almost 11 and the baby is asleep. Not sure if he is out for the count, or if he'll be up any minute. I'm going to bed. night night.

He's gotten so many cute hats as gifts. I thought I would show them off here. Which is your favorite??? He seems to like the yellow one with ears the best.

Bedtime

Well, it's bedtime. But little AJ won't sleep in his crib. Oh no. He will on occassion hang out in his crib for short periods of time and watch his mobile. But he will not sleep in there....he wakes up screaming after a few seconds. Maybe one day... I have hope.

Stroller Ride

It was a gorgeous day here. In the mid 60s. We went for a stroller ride around the neighborhood. He did great until we were walking along the golf course fairway and he started screaming. I don't think the golfers appreciated it very much. I took him out of the stroller and he fell right sleep.

Sweet and Sour

In case you were wondering how much it costs to have a baby these days... The hospital sent us our bill the other day... $19,000 for my stay and $15,000 for AJ!!!! Can you believe it???? Of course Kaiser paid for it, but oh my goodness. Of course he is worth it, even when he's crying!

Unexpected Surprise

Well I don't know if it was before, during or after I took this picture of him in his bath towel, but at some point he peed on the bed. What a stinker. I guess it didn't help that I was taking tons of pictures of him and some video too.

I haven't had time for a shower yet today, but my comforter and sheets have all been laundered. :)

Football Sunday

So here we are on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Once again we are watching football. Are you sensing a theme here? The baby has been fast asleep for a long time now. If you can't read his shirt it says "Sometimes Stinky, Always Sweet". Taro chose that outfit because he had to change an incredibly disgusting poopy diaper this morning. Ha ha.

I've created this new blog to document the life and times of Alex Juntaro (AJ). Check back often to see new pictures and to see how fast he is growing each day.

He loves to smile now. He watches his mobile and smiles. I was able to capture a bit of a smile in this picture above while he was in his swing.

Yesterday I took him to work with me so I could introduce him to everyone. Boy did they ooh and ahh over him! We still don't get out of the house much, so it is quite an ordeal to get everything ready to go out.

This afternoon Taro and AJ watched the NFL playoffs together while I tried to take a nap. He must have not liked the game very much because he cried all afternoon it seemed. Now he is finally asleep so I can post this blog. Before the afternoon meltdown, Taro took this picture of him in his cute overalls.
