Happy Birthday to Nate

                                                    

He didn't know what to think about us singing to him.

Taro gave him a fork and he didn't know what to do with it! HA.

Until he almost choke himself with it.

So I stuck his hand right into the cake.

Six layer "white" cake with Swiss Meringue Buttercream.  A first time making that frosting.  It was a bit tricky because you start by cooking it first.

Getting the hang of it now.

Ok, just shove it all in now.

 

Birthday Boy

I was making Nate's cake this morning, and left the kitchen to use the bathroom.  I came back to hear Nate crying very softly.  I couldn't find him.  He crawled up under this table and was stuck.  This was the first time he had every crawled up there.  When he saw me again, he was very happy and very proud of himself.  Stinker!  It's his birthday, I'll let it slide.  :)

Rrr, matey. Fun on the Pirate Ship

The latest additions to the "Pirate Ship" playground include a ginormous pirate flag.  Special thanks to Taro for that one.  I think he could have found a slighty bigger flag though.   Jeez!

The other fun addition is a bucket swing for Nate, which he loves as you can see.

Nate has learned to wave hi and goodbye, which is probably the cutest thing ever!  If you listen close you can hear AJ screaming at his crew about the latest emergency!  HA.

Blueberry Farm

The boys and I had a quick visit to the local blueberry farm with friends last week.  AJ and Nate had fun playing in the blue sand box.  It was HOT!  The blueberries were delicious.  I made a lemon bluberry bread that night with the 2 cups of blueberries we picked.  AJ tried it, spit it out, and said it was too blueberry.  Ha!

Eleven Months

These are pretty horrible pictures, but I am afraid it's the best I could get.  Nate hates to lay on his back so getting him to sit still is nearly impossible.  My dress is in the pictures and I cut off his legs and the sign.  Ohh well. You should see the ones I didn't pick to post.  HA HA.  One day I will show you all the outtakes.
